Rabbit in a Hole lineart by ~elsevilla [link]

A new interpretation of Alice in Wonderland. I thought this pic would takes weeks to color, but it came together pretty quickly. It seems the Cheshire Cat and the White Rabbit are interested in that big heart, but Alice just sits.. looking off into the distance uninterested by all that is going on. I to add some magical effects to the picture in what I perceived to be the wonder of Wonderland in this picture. So many details all with their own little effect add up into one grand picture. I hope you like it!

I will first say that I love the interesting new concept on the alice characters in the regard to the armor, and more high fantasy feel.
Though you did not produce the lineart, I feel the need to comment on it as it is very fine and very clean.
The linequality is wonderful.
The thinner lines remind me heavily of old storybooks I used to have.
Your color work compliments this well, not being overdone in the shadding department, or over dramatized with the lighting effects.
They're both there in enough quanity to add depth and separate the image breaking it apart enough to allow you to appreciate the detail of the peice without overwhealming the lines.
Too often I see color, (especially digital as of late) used to cover up flawed pencils and line work, and make an otherwise sub par art peice look technically better than it really is.
I love the fact that this is very complementary of each other and ballanced rather than the former.

My only critique is that I feel the font used to title the peice is lacking somehow, it doesn't seem to completely jive with the feel of the peice and I cant quite put my finger on why. I think the tilt from the italics may have something to do with it cause it pulls the eye in an odd direction.

I'd love to see more of this concept. Great work!

I appreciate your in depth comment very much! I had trouble finding a suitable font and tried to "spice" it up by italicizing it. Perhaps I can find some other fonts online and experiment a bit in that department. I'm really disappointed in the stock fonts PS8 comes with, but have no idea how to get more. I tried to do just as you said and not "over-color" the piece and not let the eye become stuck on one particular place in the picture. there were just too many interesting places for the eye to go! Elsevilla's lineart really lends itself to this type of coloring and I hope to be coloring some more of them, hehe. It's nice to work with fine lines. thanks again for the comment, and the fave.. greatly appreciated!
